At The Ilsington, dining is an experience to be enjoyed. Our award-winning restaurant, holder of two AA rosettes, combines the finest local ingredients with modern English flavours, all served with breathtaking views of Haytor. Whether you’re here for an intimate evening or a special celebration, our menu offers the perfect blend of traditional classics and contemporary dishes, each one designed to delight.
Our commitment to fresh, seasonal produce shines through in every dish. From the rich flavours of Dartmoor’s finest lamb, beef, and pork, to the daily catch from Brixham’s boats, every ingredient tells a story of local provenance. Cheese lovers will be treated to a selection of the West Country’s finest cheeses, including favourites like Quickes, and Sharpham. Foraging in the hotel grounds adds an extra layer of authenticity, with Head Chef Mike O’Donnell, at the helm since 1998, constantly evolving the menu to reflect the changing seasons and trends.
For a more casual dining experience, head to The Blue Tiger, where you can enjoy a leisurely lunch or unwind with a traditional Devonshire cream tea, served with homemade scones – perfect whether inside or on the terrace.

Enjoy a three course Sunday Lunch overlooking Haytor in our main restaurant. Served between 12pm and 2pm from September to May.
Freshly Brewed Coffee with mints are included.

For a more casual and laid-back dining experience, The Blue Tiger offers a charming bistro-style atmosphere, blending rustic character with contemporary style. Conveniently located within the hotel, it’s the perfect spot to unwind at any time of day.
Whether you’re enjoying a restorative morning coffee, relaxing with a light snack on the sun-drenched terrace, or gathering friends for an informal supper, the Blue Tiger is a welcoming retreat.
Our menu features simple yet flavourful dishes, with a focus on local ingredients and house-made specialities. Tuck into fresh fish like salmon and mackerel – all prepared using our own recipes.
For those seeking something heartier, a tender Dartmoor rump steak cooked to perfection never disappoints. To complement your meal, choose from a selection of well-kept local cask ales from beloved Devon breweries like Otter and Dartmoor, or enjoy a pre-dinner cocktail crafted from premium spirits and mixers.
Meals are served daily from 12pm to 5pm and 6pm to 8:45pm – a relaxed dining experience that captures the spirit of Devon at its finest.
